Everything you need to know before you book your first trip on Zipcar

So, you’re looking to book a car on the Zipcar app? Well, here is everything you need to know before you do.

  1. After you’ve booked your trip, the app will ask you to enable Location and Bluetooth. Allowing these permissions will give you access to the car.
  2. Use the mobile app to lock and unlock the car. The keys should always remain inside the vehicle.
    • Note: Some members may have physical Zipcars, that will also allow you to lock and unlock the vehicle.
  3. Before you start driving, inspect the car inside and out. Make sure to report any problems to Zipcar via the iPhone or Android app.
  4. There is a gas card inside every Zipcar (in the visor above the driver’s seat) that should be used to pay for gas.
  5. When returning you Zipcar make sure to return it at its home location on time, clean, and with at least 1/4 tank of gas to avoid extra fees.
  6. Tips include 180 miles per day in the US and 200 kilometers per day in Canada.
    • Note: Mileage may vary depending on your membership plan.
