How much do DoorDash drivers make?
Delivery drivers typically earn around $8 – $15/hour. Payout is calculated by: Base pay + Promotions + Tips = Total Earnings. Base pay is a calculation of “time, distance, and desirability.”
Drivers will see how much each delivery will pay before they accept the order. If a customer doesn’t leave a tip in the app, they will only receive the base pay, which is around $2 – $3.
Bonus
Sometimes DoorDash will offer Peak Pay, an incentive to drive during busy times and peak hours. Like during holidays or bad weather.

DoorDash issues a credit card that drivers use at all non-partner restaurants. At partner restaurants (indicated on the app), you don’t have to worry about payment and all you have to do is go pick up the food. Drivers aren’t allowed to open the containers to check the accuracy of the orders since they aren’t licensed food handlers, but they can still do a rough check to make sure the quantities line up and the receipt matches the app.
