Shopping Time

When shopping you can determine how long you spend shopping. Just keep in mind the app will provide a recommended “start delivery by” based on the estimated amount of time required. You will also receive a “time is running out” notification if you have not departed the store approximately 5 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled delivery window.

Note: Completing the delivery by the scheduled delivery time, exceeding the suggested shopping time will not impact your metrics or Spark Driver account standing.

Shopping Time For Cold Chain Items

Once you shop the first cold chain item the cold chain timer will begin. Once this timer begins you will have 90 minutes to complete the delivery.

How Is Produce Measured?

How it is measure will vary depending on both how the store is set-up and the specific item being order.

Note: The number or weight of items the customer requested will be provided within the shopping list in the app.

What To Do If Encounter Delays While Shopping

If the shopping process takes longer than anticipated and you do not leave the store after 45 minutes of arrival, the customer will receive an update that their order is delayed.

Can You Bring Your Own Reusable Bags For Shopping Orders?

No, to help ensure all items in the order remain sanitary and avoid exposure to outside contaminants, the use of personal bags is prohibited by Spark Driver.

How To Bag Certain Items When Shopping

When shopping for Spark Driver make sure to bag raw meat, chemicals, medicines, and animal products in separate bags to avoid cross-contamination. Also, items should be grouped based on temperature, with fragile items packed separately and on top of heavier items.

How To Locate Items In The Store

The Spark Driver app will provide details on each item’s location within the store including the aisle and section information.

What To Do If Barcode Won’t Scan?

If the scanning function is not available, click “Help” and select “Barcode won’t scan” to enter the UPC and quantity details.

What To Do If An Item Is Out Of Stock

If a listed item is unavailable at the store, the app will provide you with suggested substitution options, making it easy for you to move through the shopping list with the best available options.

Note: If none of the recommend substitutions are available, you can also try to locate another suitable replacement of similar type, price, size, and quantity by selecting the “Pick Your Own Substitute”. You will need to manually enter the details of the selected substitute item by swiping “ADD SUBSTITUE”. If you are unable to find a suitable substitution, swipe “NO SUBSITITUE FOUND” to indicate that the item is out of stock.

How To Complete Store Check Out Process After Shopping

  1. Once you’ve finished shopping, simply proceed to the self-checkout area, access any available kiosk, and use the provided single-use bags to bag all items in the order, ensuring meat, produce, and seafood are bagged individually.
    • Note: For those who live in States where plastic bags are banned Walmart will provide single-use paper bags
  2. Once everything has been scanned, click the “SCAN QR CODE” button on the self-checkout screen and use your phone to scan the code
    • Note: A store associate may come by to review the items in your cart and remove any attached security devicesl
  3. Then head to the main store exit, show the receipt displayed in the app, and proceed to your vehicle to load the items and start the delivery
