1. Complete Orders!
DoorDash measures its Dashers completion rate in order to evaluate whether you are a reliable and active Dasher. If your completion rate is under 70%, you risk your Dasher account being deactivated. Low acceptance rate doesn’t put your account at risk, but you should accept those orders.
2. Be Smart About The Orders You Do Accept
While you want to be sure that you are keeping a high acceptance rate, you should also try to get both the easiest and highest value orders.
Accepting easy orders like a delivery of donuts or cupcakes is a sure way to make a smooth and profitable delivery. For these types of food deliveries are already made and therefore cut out the risk of the restaurant delaying the delivery.
Also, high-value orders are also a great way to make money with DoorDash. For the company request’s customers to give a percentage of the bill as a tip, the higher the value of the order, the higher the tip.
3. Order Accuracy
Make sure to check the order. Don’t automatically assume the order will be correct every time you go to pick up one. Doing this before you leave will save you time, reduce complaints.
4. Choose Your Working Times Wisely
Working during the busiest times of the day such as lunch and dinner rushes can unsure you get back-to-back orders.
There is also certain times of the day like 1am to 3am where there will be fewer dashers available, meaning a higher chance of you getting more delivery request. Working this shift is the most lucrative on weekends however, drivers can make decent money working it during the week.
5. Stack Your Orders
Now, yes doing this can be challenging especially for new drivers. But accepting orders from restaurants that are close to each other or delivery destinations on the same route can help you save time and make deliveries super-efficient.
6. Research The Weather
Before you drive check the weather forecast. If it’s going to rain or snow, invest in a large plastic poncho to cover yourself and the food. For no one wants to be delivered soggy food bags.
Also, note during bad weather like snowstorms and bad rain you have the potential to make more money for there will be less drivers on the road, and more people will be ordering delivery.
