What Is Turo?
Turo is a peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace that allows people to make money by renting out their car to other drivers.
How Does Turo Work For Guest?
1. Create An Account
Goto Turos website or download their app to create an account.
2. Get Approved To Driver
All drivers must be approved by Turo before they are allowed to book a trip.
3. Find A Car
Choose your location and search for a car. You can adjust the trip dates and times to suit your plans. You can also filter by vehicle type, milage included, and pick-up/return location.
4. Book Trip
Once you’ve found a car submit a trip request, or book immediately if it’s “Book Instantly” vehicle. Note: You can only book or request to book one car at a time.
6. Pick Up Rental And Inspect
Once a host has approved your rental you meet with the at the destinated pick up spot on the day you start your rental. Make sure before you drive off to walk and inspect the vehicle for any damage if you should find some make sure to take a picture of it for your record.
5. Return Rental And Inspect
Once your rental is over you will drop of your rental at the drop-off location. Make to do another inspection of the car again, and if you should find anything to take a picture and document it for your records.
Requirements To Rent On Turo
Requirements To Rent With All Turo Host
- You must be 21 or older to book a car with a total market value of more than $20k.
- You must be 25 or older to book a Deluxe Class car.
- You must be 30 or older to book a Super Deluxe Class a car or a specialty vehicle.
Requirements To Rent With Peer-To-Peer Turo Host
- You must be 18 or older to book a trip with a peer-to-peer host. If you’re age 18-21, you can’t decline a protection plan or choose Premier protection. You must choose either the Minimum protection plan or the Standard protection plan.
- If you’re age 18-20, you’ll pay a minimum Young driver fee of $50/day.
- If you’re age 21–25, you’ll pay a minimum Young driver fee of $30/day.
Requirements To Rent With Commercial Host
- You must be 21 or older to book a trip with a Commercial Host.
- You won’t choose a protection plan. Instead, a Commercial Host will offer you their own commercial rental or liability insurance.
- Commercial Hosts set their own age restrictions for certain vehicle types and their own fees for young drivers. They must disclose this information in their vehicle listing.
