How Does Uber Freight Work For Shippers?
Shipping
- Start by logging into your account
- Then, enter the information for pickup and drop off
- Then, decide if you like the quote or not, if you like the quote, you can book the shipment in a handful of tops
Tracking
When you login to Uber Freight, you will be able to see the tracking in real-time. You can also set up the application, to send you updates as the shipment travels.
Note: Everything, including the tracking and updates can be done in the Uber Freight app.
How To Sign Up As A Shipper On Uber Freight
- Provide first and late name
- Provide company name, and business email
- Provide cell phone number
- Confirm your shipments are staying within the United States
- Choose methods of moving freight that your company uses, including:
- less-than-truckload
- 53-inch refrigerated full truckload
- 53-inch dry van truckload
- parcel
- flatbed

What Is Uber Freight Plus?
Uber Freight plus offer benefits for carriers that will supplement their income. Users who plan to work with Uber Freight at least once each 30 days, can save money on fuel including as much as $0.20 on each gallon. Users of this program can also get monthly discounts for phone plans, save as much as $16,000 if you buy a new truck, and save as much as 50 percent when buying truck parts.

For carriers, the application simplifies all of your interactions with clients, including payment processes, logistics, booking, and tracking.
How Does Uber Freight Work For Carriers?
Finding A Load
- Login to Uber Freight as a driver
- Browse loads that are available base on your preference
- You can choose filters like shipping lanes, type of cargo, and home base
- When browsing available loads, you will see all relevant information on the load. This includes the distance, star and end points, rate, and deadheads.
- Once you’ve found a load you like click “Book Load”
- Note: Once you press this button, you are obligated to drive for Uber Freight and carry it.
Tracking And Updates
As a carrier you can see real-time updates regarding shipment status. You can also see any notes that the shipper sends you, such as requests for changes to shipping.
Documentation And Payment
With the Uber Freight app you can submit your proof of deliver to avoid confusion down the line. To submit this, unload the trailer and tap, “I’m Unloaded. You will need to take a picture of the proof of delivery.
Carriers will receive payment in seven days with no fees.
Reloads
Uber loads also include reloads and backhauls, which are loads picking up close to the location you will deliver to. When these are available, the platform will automatically suggest them below the load details screen.

- Provide first and late name
- Provide company name, and business email
- Provide cell phone number
- Submit your MC OR DOT number
- A valid certificate of insurance that shows your cargo and auto liability
- Bank account information to receive ACH direct deposits
- Agree to the Broker-Motor-Carrier Agreement
Truck Requirements For Uber Freight
Uber Freight currently only allows 53′ dry vans or reefers.
Carrier Requirements For Uber Freight
- DOT/MC number
- Proof of insurance
- Bank account number
- No unconditional or unsatisfactory safety rating
Document Requirements For Uber Freight
- A valid certificate of insurance (COI) that has auto and cargo liability
- Completed Broker-Motor Carrier agreement
- State-level motor carrier permits or registration
Insurance Requirements For Uber Freight
- minimum coverage of $1,000,000 for auto liability
- minimum coverage of $100,000 for cargo liability
- For reefer carries, you also need breakdown coverage
